Pumpkin Hop Cross

This photo uses digital zoom to make the sign and pumpkins in the background the only things in the frame (and to better read the sign).

I used focus and leading lines for this photo to bring out the detail of the closest pumpkin.

I put a black and white filter on this photo to make the ordinary objects seem much more dramatic.

My sunglasses both created a frame for this photo and changed the coloring of the subject, casting a darker, warm brownish tone on the bicycle and picnic table.

I used an upward angle to capture the row of pumpkins with the sky above, and the photo also has some leading lines (the row of pumpkins itself and the red tape).

Lighting (the bright sun) and the rule of thirds, along with the subject itself (the ear of corn) evoke a crisp fall day.

This photo is purposely out of focus, because combined with the unique angle and leading lines, I think it creates a slightly dizzying effect, almost as if it's in motion.
